 The Conformation Show

Our Conformation show judge for this year's sanctioned show event is Dawn Wrobel. This is an IHA sanctioned official Conformation show event. If you are interested in entering your hedgehog into the Conformation show event please see the 'Registration' page of this website for full details and registration form. YOU MUST PRE REGISTER ONLINE BEFORE OCTOBER 20TH to compete.

Best Of Show winner is to be awarded 2 tickets to the Holiday Ball Dinner Banquet to be held after the conclusion of the show event. Tickets will be at a table with one of the Guests of Honor from the show.

OTHER SHOW EVENTS:

An 'all girl' mother (owner) & daughter (hedgie) beauty pagent. We will decide the title of   'Little Miss Hedgie Texas' for 2009-2010! (It just wouldn't be Texas without a mother daughter beauty pagent.) This pagent will be a girl only event open only to hedgies that are residents of Texas (Though if little boys sneak in to join us we'll never tell!).

A Hallway Hedgie Costume Contest for those hedgies who like to make Halloween or cosplay an every day event! * This contest will not require pre registration to enter. Just show up with your hedgie dressed in his or her best and stop by the Hallway Costume Contest table in the vendor room to enter.

Prizes will be awarded for the most creative, best character, and we will award a DFW Hedgehog Show King and Queen hedgie to be voted on by attendees.

*Prizes will be awarded at 8:00pm. You must pick up your prize if you win, we will not ship. Prizes must be picked up by the close of the show at 11:00pm.

THE SQUARE POG SHOW

Is your hedgehog a loveable huffer? Does he or she just always feel like they started the day without that oh so neccessary cup of Joe?Or do you maybe have a special rescue story behind your hedgie? Maybe your hedgie just stands out in a crowd?

If the answer is YES to any of the above then this is the event for you!

There are NO limitaions to this event and a wide variety of unique prizes will be awarded such as 'Best Rescue Story' & 'Best Huffer' among others!

 *This is NOT an offical sanctioned confirmation show event.

Are you an artsy type of hedgie lover? If the answe is yes then this is the event for you! It's free to enter and what better chance could you have to show everyone how much you love hedgehogs than by showing off how much they have inspired you! Get as creative as you want to and yes, anything goes  from oil paintings to digital art or a giant hedgehog statue made of soda bottle tops!

The Gallery will be set up throughout the show for everyone attending to see! The Gallery will display all of the enteries we get for the contest. Artists may sell their enteries & other works if they choose to by purchasing an Exhibitor's table for $45.00

All enteries will be judged at the event. Judges will include professional artists from the community & show sponsors. There will be Four Catagories with prizes awarded at the event:

1st Prize - $50 Gift Certificate from Mrs. Tiggy Winkle's Hedgehogs, Sonic the Hedgehog DVD Box Set (animated show), set of plush Sonic & Shadow toys, I Heart Hedgehogs T-shirt

2nd Prize - $25 Gift Certificate from Mrs. Tiggy Winkle's Hedgehogs

Most Creative - $10 Gift Certificate from Mrs. Tiggy Winkle's Hedgehogs

Children's Award (for all artists under 14 years old to enter) -BBC  Beatrix Potter Mrs. Tiggy Winkle DVD (animated), Plush Hedgehog , Hard Cover imported Beatrix Potter book 'The Tale of Mrs. Tiggy Winkle'

RULES: 

1. All enteries must be your own original creations! Any copyrighted or stolen images/creations will be thrown away.

2. All enteries must be claimed by no later than 9:30 PM on October 24th at the show and by no earlier than 8:30 PM. You will be required to present valid ID or a parent to pick up your entry to ensure the saftey of everyone's art! Art hat is not picked up may be thrown away!

3. No offensive or pornographic images/creations will be accepted. If you submit an innapropriate image/creation it will be thrown away. This includes anything featuring sexualy explicit content, racial or religious discrimination, politically innapropriate material. Please use your common sense!

4. Entries CAN be any size and any type of medium but we do ask that you only submit finished works to the contest (dry paint, dry glue, nothing that comes off or gets all over!).

5. All enteries must be dropped off or mailed by the deadline posted here to be included in the contest. No late enteries will be included in the judging but they can still be displayed at the show for fun.

6. If your entery wins a prize you must be present to collect your winnings at the end of theshow.

7. You may submit multiple enteries BUT only one award per artist will be given out.

Include a letter or note card with your printed name, age, address, email, phone number, title of your entry. The Show is not responsible for lost or undelivered enteries in the mail.

The auction is now accepting donations. Your name/group will be displayed next to your donation throughout the show with our thanks!

 All proceeds will go towards the Hedgehog Rescue Station at Mrs. Tiggy Winkle's Hedgehogs in Carrollton, TX. Please contact us if you or your business would like to donate an item to the Auction! DFWHEDGEHOGSHOW@GMAIL.COM

The auction will be open to all attendees ages 16 and up to participate in but you must be present to pay for your winnings and pick them up between 7:30 & 8:30 PM. Cash and Credit/Debit card may be used to pay for purchases but traveler's checks and personal checks will not be accepted.

The Auction will open at 11:00 AM and run until 7:00 PM at the show.

The lounge will be showing hedgehog related movies and TV shows all day long! Titles and viewing schedules will be posted here closer to the event.

The Arcade will feature gaming on several diff types of consoles and have every Sonic the Hedgehog game ever made available for you to play!

There will be a sonic tournament open to all ages with prizes!

*We remind parents that 'The Hedgehog's Hole' is NOT a free daycare center, unattended children uner 14 years of age will be bartered away for Sonic toys! : )

This will be a seperate area set aside for the smallest hedgie lovers at the show (Children under 13). We will have  free coloring & crafts for the kiddos and face painting! There will be a few hedgies on hand for the kids who have never seen a hedgehog to meet through the day as well.

The Children's Corner will be open from 11:00am to 6:00 PM through the show. *Parents must be present with their children to enjoy this event!

We are still looking to have a local business sponsor a small bounce house or ball pit for this area!

There will be a raffle to benefit the Hedgehog Welfare Society. All prizes will be posted on a page of this website and on display at the show as well. You don't need to attend the show to buy tickets for the raffle or to win!

Winners will be posted here after the show. All winners will be notified via email & phone.

The Holiday Ball is an event that you must register for ahead of time. No tickets will be sold at the event. Only 50 tickets will be made available online for this event. To order tickets please email us a dfwhedgehogshow@gamil.com

The Holiday Ball is a formal themed event with a full dinner being served to both humans and hedgies. Live musical entertainment will be provided  by the Crystal Feilds Band ( a Celtic/Renaissance/Folk style music group serving the DFW area)

The Dinner Menu for the Humans:

*There will be a full bar available for those 21 and over to enjoy. Individuals are responsible for their own alcoholic beverages, they are not included with the tickets.

Are you as nocturnal as your hedgie is? When the show doors close on the DFW Hedgehog Show 2009 at 11:00pm on the 7th will you be wide awake and still ready ta go? If the answer is yes then we have the solution to your problem!

Join us with your hedgie for an all night movie fest in one of the hotel's suite rooms. Refreshments will be provided (this includes Starbucks coffee!) We will watch 'Miss Potter' and some other prim and proper classics such as 'Pride & Prejudice'  (There will be some little beds available for hedgies to sleep on while us parents party.) We will discuss our hedgies, the 2009 show, ideas for the 2010 show, and have a great time together.

Sorry boys, this is a girls only event!

Can you think of a better way to end a fun day at the show?

This event is limited to no more than 12 people. You must pre register with us to attend by emailing us at dfwhedgehogshow@gmail.com  There is a small per person fee of $10.00 to cover refreshments. (Vegitarian options will be available.) We will be ordering Champagne, fruits & cheeses, and various other goodies from the hotel kitchen. Everyone will be notified via cel phone where the room for our party is located in the hotel on the 7th during the show.

SANTA will be at the Dallas Fort Worth Hedgehog Show this year! Your hedgie may meet santa and get pictures taken that will be available to purchase right there at the show as you shop in the vendors room!

$1 from every photo purchase goes to the Hedgehog Welfare Society!
